Ok, today I have prepared for you a video explaining the Past Simple. Hoy, os he preparado un video en el que explico el Pasado Simple.

Now, open your pupil's book, page 49.

Exercise 16, find out what Duncan did yesterday. Adivina lo que hizo Duncan ayer.


It's a game. You have to guess... Answer the questions on a piece of recycled paper. Adivina estas preguntas, escribe las respuestas en un papel reciclado, pon el número, no hace falta que copies la pregunta, y contesta, Yes, I did or No, I didn't.

Now, check and count your correct answers. Ahora, comprueba y cuenta las que has contestado bien.


Please, let me know in comments, how many right answers do you have? Dime en comentarios, ¿cuántas has acertado?

Finally, pupils book, page page 49, at the end of the page, FAST TRACK GRAMMAR, you have to write six sentences about what you did and didn't do yesterday, escribe seis oraciones acerca de lo que has y no has hecho ayer.

You have to send the homework by e-mail (englishjesusmaestro@gmail.com) or by class dojo, before Friday, 1st May.

Hello everyone! How are you?

Tomorrow it's a bank holiday, so today, it's the last day of class for this week!

Open your pupil's book, we are going to skip a page :-)

Be careful! This text is in the past. Este texto está en pasado.

Para poner un verbo regular en pasado, simplemente tenemos que añadirle -ed al final. En este texto salen varios ejemplos:

wanted: queríamos, es el pasado de want, querer.
walked: caminábamos o caminamos, el pasado de walk, caminar.
talked: hablábamos, pasado de talk, hablar.
played: jugábamos, jugamos, pasado de play, jugar.
listened: escuchábamos o escuchamos, pasado de listen, escuchar.
looked: mirábamos o miramos, pasado de look, mirar.
watched: vimos, pasado de watch, ver.
laughed: reímos, pasado de laugh, reír. 
stayed: permanecimos, estuvimos, pasado de stay, permanecer.

Bien, hasta aquí, ¿lo entiendes? El problema es que algunos verbos, son irregulares, es decir, el pasado no se forma añadiendo -ed, se forma de una manera, digamos, irregular, no hay una norma... Te enseño alguno. Hay que ir los aprendiendo, pero calma, no tengas prisa, los irás aprendiendo.

El pasado de go (ir) es went. Por ejemplo, I went lo Loch Ness (Yo fui al Lago Ness)
El pasado de have (tener) es had. We had a picnic (Tuvimos un picnic).

Ahora te voy a explicar cómo se hacen las oraciones negativas e interrogativas. Para que te hagas una idea, es igual que en presente, pero cambiando el auxiliar Do o Does por Did. Pongo un ejemplo del presente, y luego te explico el pasado.


Present

Affirmative:  You play basketball.
Negative:  You don't play basketball.
Interrogative: Do you play basketball?

En la tercera persona, acuérdate, se añade -s al verbo y se cambia el auxiliar

Affirmative:  He plays basketball.
Negative:  He doesn't play basketball.
Interrogative: Does he play basketball?

Vale, vamos con el pasado

Past

Affirmative:  You played basketball.
Negative:  You didn't play basketball.
Interrogative: Did you play basketball?

En el pasado, a la tercera persona NO se le añade -s, y el auxiliar no cambia, sigue siendo did.

Affirmative:  He played basketball.
Negative:  He didn't play basketball.
Interrogative: Did he play basketball?


¿Qué te parece? Si lo has entendido todo, enhorabuena!! 
Si has entendido más o menos, pero tienes dudas, enhorabuena, porque esto es complicado y sé que te has esforzado, solo estamos empezando, la semana que viene lo volveré a explicar otra vez. 
Y si no has entendido nada, enhorabuena, porque has llegado hasta aquí, y eso significa que te has esforzado mucho, no te preocupes, porque la semana que viene lo explicaré otra vez y lo entenderás seguro!

Today, we are going to start Unit 5,  so, open your pupil's book, page 44.

First, we are going to review some vocabulary and expressions. Activity 1, please, listen, read and repeat (do it at least twice or three times)



If you have questions, or you don't understand any words, please, ask me writing in comments (si no entiendes alguna expresión, pregúntamela escribiendo en comentarios).

Now, you are going to play a game. You have to write on a paper, what does Duncan do every day? I'll give you a clue, he does 7 activities from the previous activity. Then, watch the next video, and correct yourself. You win one point for each correct activity. Count your points and let me know in comments.

Hi all. Last day of second term, at last!

Today, I am going to explain you the project of this unit, "My quiz on famous people in history"

You can go to page 43 (pupil's book).

Instructions

1st: think of some famous people in history.

2nd: find out (on the Internet, books, magazines...) about the people.

3rd: you can have a look to exercises 4 and 29 (pupil's book, unit 4) and use them as examples.

4th: write a project with your questions about famous people. Basically, something similar to exercise 29. You can use whatever format you want. Be original (paper, digital, video, audio...). If you use a format on paper, you can send me photos of the project.



5th: You only have to send me the questions and the answers, but I will only post on the blog the questions, so your friends could try to guess the answers. Then, after some time, I will post the answers.

5th: you can start sending your projects when you want to, the deadline (fecha límite)  is on 17th April, but if you send the projects during Easter, you will be free earlier :-)

6th: send your projects by mail to englishjesusmaestro@gmail.com and I will post them on this blog.

Exercise 1: answer the questions, then listen to the song again and check (comprueba)

Exercise 3: write negative sentences in the past, look at the the example  👀 and use the auxiliary verb "didn't" (escribe oraciones negativas en pasado, mira el ejemplo, utiliza el auxiliar "didn't, sirve para negar, para decir que no, ya os lo explicaré con calma, ahora solo intenta hacerlo)

And finally, go to page 42 (activity). Exercise 27. Complete these sentences with was/were (look at the the example please)
